Neuhoff Director Jodi Hunt Leads Catechetics Conference Panel

IRVING, Texas (Oct. 26, 2023) — Jodi Hunt, PhD, executive director of the Ann & Joe O. Neuhoff Institute for Ministry and Evangelization, recently led a panel and presented at a National Community of Catechetical Leaders (NCCL) conference.

NCCL’s Journey to the Future of Catechesis Convocation kicked off in Baltimore in September. Hunt presented on Oct. 3 at the convocation in Dallas.

NCCL works to improve American catechesis through formation and idea sharing. Through the convocation series, NCCL aims to explore how deacons, teachers and religious catechists might apply the most recent Directory for Catechesis promulgated by the Vatican.

As a panelist, Hunt explored questions facing catechists today, including the relationship between catechesis and evangelization, the new needs of parents and families, and the best methods for teaching church doctrine.

“I was excited for the opportunity to once again connect with NCCL as the organization gathers around the country in regional meetings to engage the catechetical community in exploring new initiatives for teaching the Catholic faith,” Hunt said.

“As a leader in American Catholic pastoral leadership, NCCL has served myself and others as a great resource for not only exploring how to better engage youth and young adults in their faith formation journeys, but also as an invaluable networking opportunity to connect with other lay ecclesial ministers dedicated to the teaching of our faith.”

The last 2023 NCCL convocation will conclude in San Diego, CA, Nov. 29 - 30.
