UD Names New Director of the Office of Civil Rights and Title IX

Irving, TX (Jan. 27, 2023) — The University of Dallas recently named Inelda Acosta, Ed.D., pHCLE, the University’s Director of the Office of Civil Rights and Title IX.

A former public school administrator and teacher, Dr. Acosta has served the Education Service Center for Region 11, covering the western Metroplex, as chief human resources officer since 2020. Previously, Dr. Acosta worked as the human resources director at Cedar Hill Independent School District (ISD) and served as a teacher and administrator at Arlington ISD.

With over two decades of experience in education and leadership, Dr. Acosta understands the importance of cultivating an environment that enables human flourishing. As UD’s Director of the Office of Civil Rights and Title IX, Dr. Acosta will strengthen UD’s commitment to providing work, living and learning environments free of discrimination, harassment and retaliation. She will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the University's Civil Rights Policies and Procedures in fulfillment of the University’s compliance with federal civil rights laws. Acosta will also serve as the Student Disability Services Coordinator, supporting students with disabilities to participate fully in community life.
