In Memoriam: Joe Oscar Neuhoff, Life Trustee

The University of Dallas community grieves the loss of Joe Oscar Neuhoff, a life trustee and committed steward of the university.

Following his father’s retirement from the Board of Trustees in 1971, Joe Oscar Neuhoff joined the board and served the university steadfastly for over 50 years. He received an honorary doctorate from the university this year. Joe Oscar passed away on his birthday, March 8.

His father and his wife, Ann, are the namesake of the Ann and Joe O. Neuhoff Institute for Ministry and Evangelization, established to prepare laypeople for service to the Catholic Church. In addition to ministry, Joe Oscar was a devoted advocate for the sciences, especially the research projects of the Physics Department.

A memorial Mass will take place at noon on Saturday, March 23, at Christ the King Catholic Church, where Joe Oscar’s fellow parishioners remember seeing him daily.

Professors, presidents and fellow friends of the University of Dallas remember Joe Oscar as an integral pillar of the university community. Please join us in praying for the repose of his soul and the consolation of his family.
