IRVING, Texas (Dec. 3, 2024) — The University of Dallas recently named Karlas Avalos director of the Office of Civil Rights and Title IX.
A former public school administrator, Avalos has overseen legal compliance at a number of Texas schools during her career. Additionally, her extensive background as a paralegal has honed her expertise in analyzing policies, managing complex processes and maintaining meticulous compliance with legal standards.
As the university’s director of the Office of Civil Rights and Title IX, Avalos will strengthen UDallas’ commitment to providing work, living and learning environments free of discrimination, harassment and retaliation. She will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the university's Civil Rights Policies and Procedures in fulfillment of the university’s compliance with federal civil rights laws.
