Well, we’ll start with this weekend, because it’s a big one: MALLAPALOOZA!

Come outside and enjoy the great spring weather at this year’s Mallapalooza. Located in Tower Field, there will be live music, games and more to indulge yourself in. There will also be beer on tap (only for those of you who are of age, of course) and nonalcoholic drinks for purchase. If the beer and music wasn’t enough maybe the tacos will entice you to come out, then. SPUD is hosting the event, which will begin at 4 p.m. and end at midnight.

“Measure for Measure” by William Shakespeare is on performance. Witness justice, corruption, morality and mercy play out in 17th century Vienna. This comedy is the perfect play to start your week off. The play begins at 8 p.m. and will last until 10 p.m in the Margaret Jonsson Theater. Admission is free for students, faculty and staff. Each Tuesday through April 19, there’s going to be a Nostra Aetate reading based on the Marc Chagall etchings on display in the Beatrice M. Haggerty Gallery. The reading will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the Art History Building Auditorium with a presentation of the etching by Scott Peck, gallery director, and Catherine Caesar, assistant professor of art history. The featured speaker for Tuesday is Scott Crider, associate dean of Constantin College and professor of English. He’s speaking on the Bible as literature. If you’re still wanting to apply for the fall 2015 Rome semester, all your paperwork is due. That’s right, it’s that time again. Then, on Wednesday night, learn about the world of sacred and liturgical art. The University of Dallas presents artist, painter and art historian Lyle Novinski. As part of the Mark Chagall: Intersecting Traditions Exhibition Lecture Series, Professor of Art Emeritus Novinski, who has participated in over 60 church art installations, will lecture on the history of artists and the church. Calling all art enthusiasts and aficionados. This Thursday you can see (and hear) Michael Foley, Ph.D., from Baylor University speak on the “Hidden Unity of St. Augustine’s Confessions,” during the annual Constantin College Galbraith lecture. The lecture will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Art History Auditorium.

Meet Us @ the Tower. You might remember the commonly used phrase when meeting up with friends on campus or when you were a high school senior. The event will provide admitted high school seniors an opportunity to experience life as a UD student. They’ll hear about UD traditions and the Rome Program, experience campus and spiritual life during a one-night stay, and learn about the various academic departments and sports and clubs. Meet Us @ the Tower begins on Friday, April 15, at noon and ends on Saturday.

Finally, don’t forget about “Marc Chagall: Intersecting Traditions.” In UD’s Beatrice M. Haggerty Gallery through April 22. You must go see it!
