Friday is finally upon us. If you think this week was tough wait until the week before Thanksgiving, when midterms have eaten away at your soul, and you’re forced to consume copious amounts of Turkey, sweet potatoes and your mom’s oven-baked pecan pie during the break to replenish your body enough to make it through the rest of the semester.

Before we jump ahead of ourselves though, relax, remember today is Friday, which means you have all of this weekend to enjoy — there will be plenty of caffeinated nights ahead of you to lock yourself away in your dorm or make midnight trips to iHop to study .

So what’s going on this weekend? Well, for those who enjoy fantasy role-playing, then Dungeons and Dragons might be just the game for you. Embark on your next fictional adventure this Saturday in the Haggerty Science Center in Room 1 at 11:30 a.m.

Sunday Mass at the Church of Incarnation is at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.

If you caught the early Mass services, then there’s still time to celebrate Constitution Day (which was Friday) with the Politics Department at 6 p.m. in the Upstairs Haggar Dining Room. “Constitution Day: What Does 2016 Have to Do with 1787?” includes patriotic singing, a barbecue dinner and an address by Jonathan Culp, director of international studies and associate professor of politics. If you want to experience Constitution Day like a true America (ie, gorge on good ol’ fashioned barbecue) be sure to RSVP for this event ahead of time. Did I mention the barbecue is free for students? There’s that too.

Monday

Ever wanted to use your hand like a wand and write really, really pretty cursive? Well, calligraphy. You’re in luck, because UD’s Calligraphy Club meets at 7 p.m. in Gorman C. Now go and write something pretty.

In the evening you can also enjoy a sweet serenade of music attending the faculty recital in the Haggar Dining reception area at 7 p.m.

Tuesday

You have anywhere between 4.7 - 5.5 liters of blood in your body — that’s a lot of blood. Between 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. today you can donate blood in the Carter Blood Drive. Giving blood is like wearing a badge of honor for the day, because your little vial of vampire juice goes a long way toward helping someone.

Wednesday

Spring 2017 Romers, you need to submit your flight forms, medical information forms and fees to the Rome Office by 5 p.m. today, or your spot will be given to me. Seriously. Don’t worry though, I’ll Snapchat you while I’m off in the vineyards or touring the ruins of the Roman Forum!

Are you missing your furry, curly, shaggy, dirty, mangy, four-legged pal (aka your best friend)? For one day only UD brings you the animal rescue group Paws of Love at 7 p.m. in Gorman D for an evening of petting, playing, sniffing and fetch.

Thursday

What else is there to say? TGIT. Only one more day until it’s Friday, and only two days until it’s Saturday and then the weekend. That means a total of four days until (lame) Monday. So get your Thursday on in the Rat at 9 p.m. with your classmates and enjoy bringing in Friday.

Friday

Who doesn’t enjoy listening to music as they’re walking across the Braniff Mall between classes or on their way to lunch? Music on the Mall begins at 10 a.m.
