Current freshman Clarice Miller knew in high school that she wanted to attend a Catholic university. But after some time at her first choice, Miller knew she hadn’t yet found the challenge she was looking for.

A former clerk under Justice Antonin Scalia, Paul Clement served as U.S. Solicitor General from 2005 to 2008 under President George W. Bush. He has argued 112 cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, often involving major issues of religious freedom.

The University of Dallas has appointed Luciana Hampilos assistant general counsel. Hampilos, who served as the university’s Director of the Office of Civil Rights and Title IX since 2020, began her new role on Jan. 26.
